Sometimes, life is flawed perfection.
It’s only as good as plans that didn’t transpire.
Redirects, rejections, and reroutes,
Remould you into what you are,
This minute, this hour, this day.
I write when I’m not working, sometimes even when I am. This is one of my earliest poems. It’s not quite literary, yet, it suffices.
Meanwhile, when I am working, I do what I do best. I plan, design, and build programs and experiences for journalists and technologists at JournalismAI.
I’ve navigated many paths: from being a journalist, a news producer, a journalism-support program manager, and studying sustainability science.
I picked up some cool skills through these experiences:
I’m capable of connecting the dots and patterns underlying complex systems. I provide frameworks and methods to the madness that can be collaboration.
Yet the one red thread uniting all these experiences is my aim to understand public engagement in the context of present day information ecosystems.
I see every problem as a problem arising from an information excess, dearth, or manipulation.
I can’t tackle the problem in its entirety. Yet, I do hope to contribute meaningfully to understanding these information ecosystems and what they mean for community action.
